This SOPA and PIPA bullshit is stupid. Yes, content should be protected and people who pirate copyrighted materials “should” be punished but if the bill passes as is, many websites we all use today will “shut down.” That’s a huge loss of jobs, probably a huge blow to the American economy.
Even if Congress does pass it, and it becomes law, there are still ways. Sites and companies not located in the US are not governed by US laws, meaning SOPA and PIPA won’t stop them. It will be much harder to pirate materials but it could still be done.
All because they want to make a buck!
