Usually, when you’re getting to know someone, you’re asking them a bunch of random questions right? Where they’re from, how old they are, their hobbies, etc. Of course there’s also the “favorites game,” which I really hate. Simple, right? This method gets straight to the point, and you get to find out a lot about the other person; a lot of facts. But that’s all those are, facts. You don’t really get to know WHO they are.
I’m a bit different. I never really ask people these questions. When I want to get to know someone, I prefer to hang out with them. I want to see how they respond to different situations. How they treat strangers. How they are with their friends and how they are with my friends. How they are when it’s just them and me. Are they a completely different person in front of different people? I’m an observer. I learn a lot about people just by watching them. Discovering the little quirks and habits of a person is the fun part. Instead of firing a bunch of silly questions at once to which I’ll forget the answer a day later (honest), I’d rather find out the answers to those questions without even having to ask those questions. Each person is mystery, and I love solving a good mystery.
